When you look through your lens, do you let go of everything? Not really. It depends on the need of a conscious involvement in a concrete situation. There are so many ways of seeing through the lens: concentrated documentary, capturing commonly invisible aspects, eye-touching empathy, insight … and so on … I like to observe – that´s the work of an anthropologist – in a form of “participant observation“ or “observing participation“ , so photography is a suitable medium for doing visual anthropology. Besides, I like the image in general: it could be painting or Imagism, poetry style founded by Ezra Pound … I do see image as a substantial eidetic form, a typical likeness of being, which has the same basis as Plato´s idea, i.e. eidos. That way, you can see life as its own designer….
